UBC Library Vault
The UBC Library has a very large collection of images which have remained in storage and hidden from the public eye - until now. The UBC Library Vault was designed to share this treasure with the public. When we first met with UBC’s marketing team, ideas of all sorts were discussed on how best to create this website. Partnering with Miin Lim from the Ascent Group, we developed the visual branding and came up with a plan which consisted of creating 2 dynamically driven websites, an e-store, e-card application and eNewsletter which were released in phases.
The first phase consisted of designing the UBC Library Vault and contructing the online image/content management system and the e-store. Johnny Kuan created an elegant website design based on the logo and brand developed by the creative team at Pacey + Pacey, which we were able to extend to the OS Commerce application. The second phase consisted of extending the branding to the second web site, Support UBC Library, where users can find out more about the various UBC Library’s projects, and donate online to a variety of endowment and funds.
Since the launch of the websites, UBC Library has received substantial increase in inquiries for their programs and fundraising initiatives. Online sales and eNewsletter sign-up have been impressive as with the use of our recently launched e-card application.
With their newfound web marketing platform and its strong back-end management system, UBC Library is able to build a community of rare collections and preservations enthusiasts, and gain support for UBC Library’s wonderful collection. In effect, it has given UBC Library the necessary boost to take their awareness campaign and supporter outreach programs to the “next level”.
